On Thursday 27th September 2018, TTRNA representatives met with the General Manager, Human Resource, General Manager, Nursing, and the Nursing Administrators of the three (3) hospitals under the purview of the NWRHA.

These discussions represents the continuation of a commitment by management and the Nurses Union, to collaboratively work to solve the many issues affecting our members and the delivery of quality healthcare.

Some of these issues that were addressed include: resolving the backlog of increment payments, reviewing the grievance process, and ensuring injury leave benefits and OSHA requirements are adhere to by managements. TTRNA has committed to ensuring the professionalism of nursing personnel is fostered through its many initiatives.

TTRNA will also like to acknowledge the General Manager, Nursing — Ms. Cecilia Hutson, who is currently acting as Chief Executive Officer of the NWRHA. Nursing again shows that we are most suited to hold senior management positions within the health sector, and should not be limited to solely nursing positions.
