Members of the Central Executive of the Trinidad and Tobago Registered Nurses Association(TTRNA), visited The Couva Hospital and Multi-Training Facility at approximately 5:00pm on, Saturday14th March, 2020. This Facility has been earmarked as the National Centre for the care and management of persons with the Covid 19 virus.
The members of the Executive presented a care package to Ms. Heather Wilson, Nursing Administrator Mount Hope Womens Hospital. The package consisted of light refreshments and Ms. Wilson accepted on behalf of the Nursing Personnel assigned to the unit. TTRNA has requested a tour of the facility to ensure that the environment is outfitted according to Health and Safety standards. A date is yet to be determined for same.
The Association is committed to supporting Nursing Personnel in this time of uncertainty. Furthermore, we remain open and willing to work with management . Moreover, we aim to ensure that the necessary precautions and systems are in place for those directly involved in the care and management of both confirmed and suspected cases of the Covid 19 Virus.
