The Trinidad and Tobago Registered Nurses Association (TTRNA) wishes to register its deepest disappointment with the untimely removal of Mr. Sheldon Cyrus from the post of Ag CEO of the TRHA on the 2nd March 2020.
TTRNA executives would have worked well with Mr. Cyrus over the last nine (9) months, successfully addressing a number of long standing issues faced by our members. These included payment of outstanding gratuities, filling of vacant positions, and Occupational, Health and Safety Issues.
TTRNA takes note of the letter dated 19th February 2020, purportedly to be under the pen of Mr. Cyrus, citing the numerous challenges faced by him during his stint as Ag. CEO. TTRNA recognizes that despite some questionable actions of the board, and these severe impediments faced by Mr. Cyrus during his tenure, he demonstrated the professionalism and commitment to execute his responsibilities.
One could be compelled to think, that there are persons holding key positions in government, who neither want workers' issues to be resolved nor industrial relations peace to be maintained.
TTRNA wishes Mr. Cyrus all the best in his future endeavours as we know he is a consummate professional and will be quickly absorbed into a more progressive organization.
